Jill Morris MODERN ABSTRACT SERIES: mixed media
This body of artwork is a natural evolvement from my extensive exposure to art while growing up in NYC across the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I spent countless hours admiring Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinski, and Joan Miró, and I have been influenced by their use of organic developments of colorful and rhythmic canvases.
In my mixed media paintings, I reduce the formal elements to simple shapes,
focusing on color relationships with dynamic tension and play.
